The Character, Power, and Demand of Biblical Truth

Introduction:
  • When your child is ill, your business is failing, a trusted friend betrays you, you have a deep-seated difference with your wife, or when you try to look beyond a serious operation — then — you want to know the truth.
  • Truth, as a correspondence with reality, is a most important possession. Without it we would not have had men on the moon, there would be no penicillin, communication would be impossible, right and wrong would be meaningless, and hope would be an empty desire.
  • The Christian understands that there is truth. There are answers to the basic questions and problems of life. These answers are found in general and special revelation — God has revealed the truth to us.
