The Infinite God (2)
Introduction:
- The word "infinite* is utilized to signify the immeasurable greatness of the true and living God. In all of His attributes He is without any limit.
- This great truth is summarized in the personal name of God "Yahweh" which is written as LORD in the KJV and the NIV. When God called Moses to go to Pharoah and lead the children of Israel out of Egypt, He gave him this name. By this Moses was told that God would be to him all that he would need.
- There are many times when Moses used this name to teach Israel. A large number of these is found in Deuteronomy where Moses prepared the "new Israel" to enter the land of Canaan. Their parents had failed to believe God. (Deut. 1:22-46)
