The Need for a World and Life View (2)

Introduction: 
  • All of us are involved in a search for value and meaning. For most of us this means adopting a system. We all interpret life on the basis of the world-view we possess.
  • The common tendency is to follow some form of Humanism. This may be summarized in the statement of Alexander Pope (1688-1744) from his An Essay on Man.
    Know then thyself, presume not God to scan;
    The proper study of mankind is man.
